Innovators of America Prize

Experiences in Social Innovation

There are the Oscars, the Emmys and the Golden Globes; but there is no award given to Latin American innovative projects that change the world - discovering vaccines, improving technology, generating new social waves, struggling to control climate change.

The Innovators of America Prize wishes to acknowledge the most significant projects in the fields of social, entrepreneurial, cultural, and scientific development.

The Innovators of America Prize constitutes a well-deserved acknowledgement to the work performed by Latin American icons that do not sing, run after a ball, or frequently appear in the media – modern heroes that should be compensated and distinguished for their ability to transform society through their innovations.

The Experiences in Social Innovation project is an initiative of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean with support from the WK Foundation Kellogg .

The contest is a privileged means to identify, assess and recognize the most innovative experiences .

First opened in 2004 , Experiences in Social Innovation identifies , analyzes, recognizes and promotes creative replication of initiatives where the community actively participates . In his five cycles , the contest has received 4800 initiatives from almost all countries of the region.

The eight categories set to compete are health , education, nutrition / food security , youth programs , income generation , corporate social responsibility , volunteering and rural / agricultural development.
